Agenda

9:00am - 9:10am Welcome and Opening Remarks

Representatives from NFPA and MSOE will call us to order and provide an overview of today’s program and the supporting organizations.

9:10am - 9:50am System Architecture for the Next Generation of Connected Vehicles and Market Forces Driving This Change

Matt Via, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, HED

Via’s presentation will focus on the system architecture design of next generation systems for connected vehicles – dealing with use cases for Autonomy, data driven designs, over the air programming, managing security and enabling flexibility for the growing data needs and uses on machines.

9:50am - 10:30am Delivering on Streamlined Integrated Control Systems

DJ O’Konek, Engineering Manager, Nott Company

Nott company’s patent-pending joystick integrates the mobile controller into an input device. It acts as both an input device to the system and the decision-making/edge computing device to communicate with the other intelligent/non-intelligent components in the system rather than having an independent primary controller. This creates a very compact system that can control ancillary devices or even the propulsion and steering on a piece of equipment. Currently, systems are developed using separate input devices, controller, actuators, and pumps, by bundling the joystick and controllers into one device, it reduces wiring and eliminates a separate controller, which can require additional programming, thereby delivering a simplified system, reducing overall cost, and providing the OEM with better time to market.

10:30am – 11:10am Collaborative Synergy: Ecosystem Partners Uniting for IoT Solutions

Adam Livesay, Co-Founder and COO, Elevat, Inc; Ed Hopkins, Digital Business Leader, Cummins; and Russ Schneidewind of Hydraforce

Join us for a compelling discussion on “How Ecosystem Partners are Coming Together to Deliver IoT Solutions.” This engaging and informative presentation will delve into the dynamic world of IoT, exploring the critical role played by ecosystem partners in crating innovating and sustainable IoT solutions.

11:10am – 11:30am Future Development and Discussion

Representative from NFPA will present information from the NFPA Technology Roadmap on future development needs for fluid power in connected systems and machines, and engage participants in discussion on same topic.
